You could only view the outside because it's now rented out as an accommodation in Mt Airy. You can't go in.
We visited here from South Carolina as a nice little pitstop passing through. It was really cool to see and to have a police car at the entrance. They were part of a tour going through but was neat to see it there. In addition to that one there were probably about 4 more cruising through town. The downtown was fun to check out too.

Loved Mt. Airy...people are amazingly nice and friendly. The Andy Griffith childhood home was great to see. Brought back memories of my childhood.
We took a trolly tour of Mount Airy and they stopped at the home but it is an Airbnb and we did not go in.
